If you have a Road Bike you can travel faster and you can go around Singapore in no time… go to your favorite hawker center and order the best carrot cake and a cup of coffee after a morning ride.
2. It’s Best for You
Riding bicycle is best for you. It makes you feel good. Cycling for just 30 minutes going to the shops and back each day will improve your cardio.
Research has shown that cyclist are fitter and they have better heart health.
3. It’s for Everyone
Anyone can learn to cycle. Its one of the skills taught at a young age. Children from 3yrs old can start to learn the basics. I’ve seen older people at 80+ who are still active and joins cycle events.
Regardless of background, anyone can ride a bicycle.
4. Makes you Feel Young
Riding bicycle makes you feel young. It releases the kid in you.
If you ride MTB the level of excitement when you are facing the tough terrains makes you feel like your inner child wants to scream.
If you are riding a road bike the speed and wind makes you feel like you’re flying which releases a special feel-good neurotransmitter called endorphin.
5. Cycling Saves You Money
Initially, you have to spend on your bike and accessories. There are cheaper ones and some high-end bikes for competitive and hobbyist.
If you cycle to work you can save on travel fares which will gradually cover your initial cost. Make sure to always wear helmet and switch ON your daytime light
Cycling has minimal running costs and it makes you fitter and healthier while enjoying your ride to your destination.
If you cycle, you can cancel your other gym memberships which will also help you cover the initial cost.
Bicycle typically last long if you take good care of it before and after each ride.
6. It Makes You Stronger
Riding bicycle helps you build your core muscles and improve your balance.
When you cycle your leg muscles are the most used muscles for pedaling. This will help you stand longer without getting tired.
I once had a job that requires the supervision of multiple test equipment. I have to walk back and forth to check if everything is running smoothly.
My daily cycle to work has helped me a lot cos my legs are stronger, I don’t get tired easily.
7. It’s Earth Friendly
A bicycle produces zero carbon footprint which makes it an environmentally friendly transport.
If more people cycle for shorter distance travel, mother earth will be much happier and the temperature will drop.
We are experiencing heatwaves due to so much carbon emissions in the air.
Changing to cycle to work will definitely reduce carbon footprints and help save the environment and also help reduce air pollution.

Most cycling events are geared towards raising money for charity.
You can check for a cycle and event that supports a charity or fund those who are hit by natural calamities.
It makes you feel good helping people while cycling and getting fitter.
